Explore Spa at Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa

Le Meridien Explore Spa Exterior

The Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll, which is approximately 45 minutes north from Male via seaplane. It’s the newest and most anticipated Marriott Bonvoy family property in the Maldives and features a luxurious overwater spa.

Explore Spa

Located near the middle of the island, the Explore Spa offers a variety of luxury treatments. The spa’s treatment rooms are overwater and have feature a glass bottom so that spa visitors can enjoy the sea life during a massage.

Arrival

Upon arrival to Explore Spa, you’re greeted by a smiling employee and treated to a refreshing welcome drink. The reception area is simple, airy, and inviting. It’s the perfect way to start your journey to bliss.

Make sure to get to your treatment early so you are able to fill out your preferences sheet and have time to enjoy your drink.

Treatment Rooms

Double doors lead guests from the reception area to the private overwater spa treatment rooms. The simple outdoor décor makes you feel like you’re on a castaway island – it’s a different feel than the main areas of the hotel.

Le Meridien Explore Spa Treatment Room Exterior

There are four overwater spa treatment villas at Explore Spa, with some villas housing two treatment rooms. In the treatment rooms, there is a seating area for a foot bath, a treatment table, a treatment prep area, and a small rack to store your belongings. Each of the overwater spa treatment rooms boast a glass bottom floor so that you can view the fish during your treatment.

One thing I disliked how the treatment rooms didn’t have a private bathroom with a shower. Instead of being able to unwind in privacy after my treatment, I was directed to a shared locker room to shower which lacked a feeling of luxury for the price of the treatments.

Treatment

Treatments I booked included a body scrub, a body wrap, a massage, and a facial. All of the treatments were extremely professional and relaxing.

Each treatment began with a foot bath in the private treatment room and I was able to overlook the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. This picture-perfect scene immediately relaxes you.

Out of the treatments enjoyed, I particularly liked the body scrub and highly recommend the indulgence. However, due to the abrasion of the scrub, I wouldn’t suggest this treatment for anyone with a sunburn!

As an elite Marriott Bonvoy member, extra time was added to each treatment as a perk. The spa accounted for this during booking and appointments were tended to at their appropriate time.

Post Treatment

After treatment, guests are guided to the shared locker room where there are showers and saunas for use. Outside of the shared locker room, there is a relaxation area where tea and a light snack, such as coconut slices, are served. The relaxation area is tranquil and its décor is simple and soothing.
