Hello! Hola! Dobrý den! Goede dag! Ciao!
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Candi. No – really, my name is Candice but everyone calls me Candi because I love sweets.
Over two years ago, I quit my corporate job and left the place that I called “home.” In the States (where I was working at the time), it’s easy to get caught up with work, and with limited time-off, it’s hard to truly enjoy life. I wanted more.
Growing up, I never went on a family vacation, since my single mother worked two jobs just to keep food on our table. I always dreamed of seeing the world beyond my hometown.
So I saved up and traveled. While I was inspired by my travels abroad, I was too comfortable at my okay job and my okay life to make any drastic changes.
It wasn’t until a scary (but successful) battle with cancer that I began to question what I was doing with my life. Was I truly happy? The answer is: I wasn’t. I was living my life with regrets, working over forty hours a week, and wiped out. I was working so many hours I barely saw my roommate.
So, I decided to do something I had always wanted: live abroad, travel the world, and volunteer in foreign lands.
Since leaving home, I have lived in two different places abroad, traveled to 57 new countries (some numerous times), and I spent most of 2015 on the road exploring Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Before I started traveling, I spoke English and Spanish fluently and two other languages conversationally. Because of my time abroad, I now speak six languages fluently.
Finally, I’ve found my happy spot – sometimes I feel like I’m living in a dream.
I hope to show you, my reader, that traveling doesn’t have to cost a fortune and it’s never too late to get started. Don’t wait for some life-changing event to happen – get out there and travel!

This is the trip that made me start questioning my life and started it all. I had traveled abroad numerous times before, but this journey was a life-changing experience. Please forgive my intense filters – I used to overdo it. Kiev, Ukraine, 2013

Saying it was windy on this day is an understatement, but much appreciated in Doha’s summer heat. Doha, Qatar 2015
A routine morning breakfast turned into washing a baby elephant in a river with some courageous friends. Pinnawala, Sri Lanka, 2015
I’ve been quite lucky to have my friends meet up with me along the way. Samantha met me in Morocco and in Northern Ireland. Here we are on a scorching summer day in the desert before our camel excursion. I’m grateful to have such supporters. Outside of Marrakech, Morocco, 2015
Admiring the ancient fortress of San Marino, a tiny country located inside Italy. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking.
The decision to develop this website was because of continuous encouragement from my friends and family. The people I know from home, and those I have met while traveling, are incredibly supportive and continue to inspire me. Thank you.
Traveling has made me richer – in experiences. Nothing can replace what I have gained. Giza, Egypt 2015
