Hotel Review: Myconian Kyma

Myconian Kyma Entrance

Let’s be real:  Mykonos has a lot of hotels. Some may say there are too many hotels to choose from in Mykonos. But, the Myconian Kyma is a hotel that’s got a bit of it all and it is one of my favorite hotels on the island.

We’ve also stayed at Kyma's sister hotel, the Myconian Korali. However, we far prefer the Kyma to the Korali because it’s a bit more private and we promise you won’t dislike your room there.

The Hotel

Located just outside of the island’s bustling epicenter, Mykonos Town, the Myconian Kyma is only about a ten minutes walk from Little Venice. Mykonos Town is an area you’re most likely go visit at least once to see all the shopping and to visit the incredible bars and restaurants.

The hotel has 81 rooms, with 29 of those spaces dedicated to suites. The Myconian Kyma is part of a larger, three-hotel complex that enables guests the options of various restaurants and a spa.

Some of the rooms at the Myconian Kyma offer a private plunge pool, but there’s also two main pools with a bar area. It’s actually one of my favorite pool areas on the island because of its laid-back vibes and great service.  You can either relax in one of the hotel’s ultra-plush sunbeds or the cabanas while relaxing in the Greek sun.

The Hotel Restaurant: Noa

There is one restaurant at the Myconian Kyma, which is named Noa. This restaurant is located in the main area, with some tables offering sweeping views of the water. Both lunch and dinner at Noa offer guests a beautiful selection of fresh, local dishes.

Breakfast is also served at Noa in a well-organized buffet style, with the offering being a variety of delicious baked goods and greek specialties.

Room 1: Sunset Suite

The Sunset Suite is an absolutely stunning multi-level corner suite that features two balconies offering sea views. One balcony was spacious enough for a whirlpool tub and two sunbeds.

Inside the two-level suite was one main bedroom area with a huge bed, seating area, and mini bar.

Bathroom

The bathroom area was set back on a separate floor and had a large closet. There was no bathtub in the room. It featured a larger vanity area that allows for guests to fully relax and unpack their toiletry items.

Room 2: Aegean Suite

The Aegean Suite is the first category of Kyma’s suite, but it’s a great choice. The room is extra spacious and the balcony has a very private jacuzzi tub and a sunbed.

Bathroom

Although the Aegean Suite is categorized as a suite, the bathroom area is quite small. There is no bathtub and the vanity had little counter space for guest’s bath items.

Activities

Within walking distance from the hotel complex is a small sandy beach. Also nearby is a rental shop for ATVs and motorbikes, which is a fun way to see the rest of Mykonos. If you want to go shopping, dine, or dance, take the ten-minute walk to Little Venice.

Overall

The Myconian Kyma is the perfect hotel to choose whether you're visiting Mykonos for the first time or for the fifth time. It’s close to Little Venice, has incredible views of the sea, and the rooms are private and well appointed.

What We Loved

  • Due to its proximity to the airport, the Myconian Kyma is a quick ride from the international airport. This is a huge value-add for guests.
  • Each and every room was thoughtfully designed, with adorable local items on display.
  • The local treats in each guest room upon arrival is a nice welcome to the island.
  • Every morning, the breakfast buffet was fully-stocked with a wide selection of Greek delicacies.

What You Should Know

  • Both main pools at the hotel are salt water.
  • Some rooms at the hotel may have direct views of power lines.
  • Some rooms can be hard to find in the labyrinth-like layout.
