Hotel Review: Myconian Korali

Myconian Korali Lobby View

The Greek Island of Mykonos seems to have countless unique and Instagram-worthy hotels to choose from. Some focus on a being known as a party-haven, while others focus on relaxation or are located on a beautiful beach. When visiting Mykonos, we enjoy staying at the Myconian Collection of hotels because they offer a bit of serenity near the city.

The Hotel

Located just outside of Mykonos Town, the Myconian Korali is located a short ten minutes’ walk from Little Venice – where you’ll most likely wind up for dinner or drinks (or both).  The hotel has100 adorable, Aegean-inspired rooms and suites, a spa, an on-site fine-dining restaurant, and a small resort shop. It’s part of a larger, three-hotel complex, giving guests the opportunity to experience different restaurants and pools without venturing far from their room.

Some of the rooms at the Myconian Korali offer a private plunge pool, but there’s also a main pool with a bar area that overlooks the sea and the town. You can either relax in one of the hotel’s sunbeds or the cabanas while sipping on cocktails and watching other guests.

The Hotel Restaurant: Baos

There is one restaurant at the Myconian Korali, Baos. This restaurant is located in the main area, set atop the hill with gorgeous views of the sea and is the perfect location for a sunset dining atmosphere. Dinners served at Baos are high quality, with the service and vibe being typical of what you would expect at any fine dining establishment.

Breakfast is also served here in buffet style, with the offering being a variety of freshly baked goods and local specialties.

Premium Room, Sea View (Panoramic)

There are multiple different room types at the Myconian Korali, with the Panoramic rooms being a step up from the “standard” rooms and offer partial or full sea views and balconies. Our room had a full sea view and was outfitted with a Nespresso machine and luxurious local toiletries.

Inside the Panoramic Room was one main area with a huge bed, seating area, and mini bar. Our room, which was located on the 200-level, was just off the dining area and was quite loud in the mornings during breakfast time.

Bathroom

The bathroom area consists of a vanity, a glass shower, and a private toilet. However, the room’s bathroom area is quite small, especially when getting ready for an evening out.

Activities

Within walking distance to the hotel is a sandy beach for relaxing or Mykonos Town for shopping, dining, and partying. Also nearby is a rental shop for scooters and ATVs – which I highly recommend for easily seeing the island.

Overall

The Myconian Korali is perfectly located nearby Mykonos Town without being too close. Its variety of room offerings, high-class service, and proximity to both the airport and the party make it a great option for those who are looking for a bit of it all while visiting the island.

What We Loved

  • Due to its proximity to the airport, the Myconian Korali is a quick ride from the international airport. Being able to arrive at your hotel so quickly after landing is amazing – and the hotel offers a free shuttle for guests!
  • Every morning, the breakfast buffet was fully-stocked with a wide selection of local delicacies.

What You Should Know

  • The negative side of being so close to Mykonos Town: Your room at the hotel may have direct views of power lines.
  • Some rooms can be quite loud due to the volume of people walking by on their way to breakfast in the morning (or coming home late at night).
  • Bathrooms in lower category rooms have a small vanity area, which may make putting on makeup a hassle.
  • At the time of our visit, there were a lot of families with children – which made breakfast time quite noisy.
