Galle Panoramic

Located on the southern coast of the island is the charming old Dutch fort town of Galle. The incredible Galle Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with heaps of history located inside the walls. This is a city of history, colonial architecture, art, trade and a melting pot of people from around the world – nearly a third of inhabitants in Galle are foreigners! Although Galle is easily reachable via a day trip from Colombo, spending a night or more is a key part to uncovering the allure of this historic city.

Where To Stay
When visiting Galle, staying within the atmospheric walls of the 36-hectare fort gives you the true feeling of the community. Working administrative offices are placed throughout the landmarks, shops, restaurants and hotels.
