Stay near the Grand Place. This area is beautiful, full of life, and within walking distance of many attractions within Brussels. Since it is a popular area with all visitors, hotels can be pricey. For a great bargain, look into private accommodations within the city. A large two-bedroom apartment on the square can cost as low as 40 EUR per night, depending on the season.

What To Do

  • Grand Place
    The Grand Place is the main square in Brussels. Built in the 1400s, the city’s Town Hall is just one of the beautiful buildings that lines this UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Delirium
    With a new world record, Delirium is a brewery and bar complex with over 3,000 beers to choose from. It’s a must-do for the beer enthusiast.
  • Royal Palace
    Opened in 1934, the Royal Palace of Brussels is the official palace of Belgium’s monarchy. The palace opens its doors to visitors (for free) during the summer. Opening hours are daily (except Mondays) from 10:30-16:30.
  • Manneken Pis
    A small statue of a boy peeing into the fountain, this landmark was installed in the early 17th century.

  • Atomium
    An atomically–shaped building that was completed in 1958 for the Brussels World’s Fair. The attraction is a little bit outside of the city, so plan your day accordingly. Atomium is open daily from 10-18:00.
