Piazza Navonna is located in central Rome. It provides travelers with an excellent location and allows them to be within walking distance of many of the main attractions in the city. Nearby are many restaurants and cafes.

 

What To Do

  • Pantheon
    The Pantheon, an ancient Roman temple built in the early first century, was dedicated to all of the gods. It is the most well preserved historic building in all of Rome.

  • Colosseum
    Construction on the Colosseum began in 70 AD, and the massive structure was once the location of the great gladiator games. Open daily from 08:30-19:00. Entrance prices vary depending on which ticket is purchased. Lines are long – it is recommended to get there early if you have not purchased your tickets in advance.

  • Piazza Navona
    Rome’s most romantic and beautiful squares, the lively Piazza Navona is full of elegant mansions, fountains and tourists. It is a great place to grab a glass of Italian wine and people watch.
  • Forum of Augustus
    An ancient forum that was built by Augustus. It is one of the quieter attractions in Rome, so if you are looking for an escape from the tourist clusters, this is your place.
  • Piazza di Trevi
    The picture-perfect square where the Trevi Fountain, a masterpiece by Bernini and Nicola Salvi, is located.
  • Spanish Steps
    A set of steep steps that connect two squares, the Piazza di Spagna and the Piazza Trinita dei Monti, with the large Trinita dei Monti church sitting at the top.
  • Vatican City
    A separate micro country, Vatican City is surrounded by the city of Rome. It is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church.

    • Sistine Chapel
      Famous for an intricate ceiling that was painted by Michelangelo in the early 1500s, the Sistine Chapel is the official residence of the Pope.
    • Piazza San Pietro
      Piazza San Pietro is a large picturesque plaza located directly in front of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.
    • St. Peter’s Basilica
      Constructed in the 16th century, St. Peter’s Basilica is the breathtaking Late Renaissance church in the center of Vatican City.
