Hotel Review: Posada Terra Santa, Mallorca

Posada Terra Santa is a gorgeous boutique hotel in the former 16th-century home of a local aristocratic family. Situated on a picturesque side street in the heart of Palma’s Old Town, it is a quiet sanctuary where guests can relax and get a good night’s sleep.
The Hotel
Posada Terra Santa’s design emphasizes understated luxury and the beauty of the historic building.
There are 26 rooms in the hotel, each with its unique design and layout. The hotel has an onsite restaurant, a spa, and a stunning rooftop terrace and pool with views of the historical center. The hotel's basement area has a spa and sauna, equipped with a heated plunge pool.
Arrival
After navigating the Palma alleyways, guests are welcomed to a colorful courtyard and invited to a class of cava during the unhurried and casual check-in process. The open-plan lobby is tastefully decorated, and the front desk staff is amicable and informative.
The designated check-in time for guests is 3 p.m. Because of our flight time, we arrived at the hotel quite late in the evening, but the front desk was open, and our room was ready.

Room Booked: Standard Room
The Standard Room at Posada Terra Santa is excellent for travelers looking for a comfortable room at an exceptional hotel in the city center.

We were delighted to see a bottle of local red wine in the room waiting for us upon arrival. Posada Terra Santa’s staff pays attention to the details and aims to create an experience for guests that won’t be forgotten.

Since we booked the lowest category, our room felt cramped and had minimal storage space for luggage. For more comfort and additional space, we recommend booking a room category above the Standard Room.
The standard room category does not have a bathtub.
The Food and Drink
The hotel’s onsite restaurant, La Despensa del Barón, is a famous gastronomic eatery featuring local Mediterranean dishes underneath gothic arches. Reservations are highly recommended to guarantee a seat – seating is limited.

Overall
Although the specific room category we booked was tiny, the hotel exceeded our expectations. Our stay felt like staying at someone’s luxurious summer home rather than a hotel. The service was spectacular, and being in the heart of Palma was an excellent experience.
What We Loved
- The hotel's welcome and check-in were exceptional. The front desk team's experts made guests feel welcomed and appreciated. The glass of cava was a lovely extra!
- Posada Terra Santa has an adorable rooftop with a breathtaking cathedral view.
What You Should Know
- Rooms have been slightly refreshed with new bedding since our stay. The refresh looks gorgeous in the press photos online, but we have not been back to the hotel since this update.
- Standard rooms are small. It’s worth booking a category higher than the “standard” room.
